Done!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are finally done it is over this class and the year. Our Biggest accomplishment was finishing the game. Our biggest struggle was how fast we had to make the game. I liked helping people when they got stuck on stuff. I had fun in this class with Stephen and Ryan!

Practice Presentation

We are going to present our game next week. We will read and demonstrate our game in front of the class. We still need to add sound and some action script on our game. Our game is called Racing 4 Math and what you do is race against another car and answer question to win. Our biggest concern is not finishing before the deadline.

Accomplishments

We have done a lot so far but we need to do a little more. So far we learned how to use sound on our game. Everything we have done is uploaded on the team page. We entind to work on our game and put on sound and actionscripts. Me and Steven have done a lot and Stephen has been helping Ryan with the 2 new scenes he made.

Friday 4-30-10 Blog

Ya we did get everything we wanted done last week because it is all uploaded into the Game demo. This week we plan on adding the sound and adding the action codes. I do not think we will get done by next week but we would be really close to finishing. I think we would all be working at a faster rate if we had the action book so stephen can do some more work. We added everything on our Team page.

Assembling our game

The last two days we have worked on our game skeleton and our paper prototype. We finally added that last part of the paper prototype on the team page. We have been adding our prototype to our game demo skeleton to finish it. I have done the team page and the game skeleton with steven. Uploading the last part of the paper prototype on the team page was a little easy. The hard part was the game demo and putting our prototype on it. I do think that everyone is contributing to it. Our plans for the rest of the week is to finish uploading the prototype to our game demo.

Game skeleton/buttons

I got my buttons to work on my game skeleton but I needed help from a classmate but after he showed me how to do it I started helping other people. I learned how to make buttons work in flash and a lot of other stuff to. I have had a lot of fun using flash so far and helping my friends. The help of my classmates also have tought me a lot about flash, wiki, and more.

Sound

Sound will be easy all you have to do is go to the web site that the video told you about and find the sound that you are looking for and save it. After you save it you open flash and put the sound in your library. From there you drag it on the layer and it should work. Now when you test your movie you should here the sound. We plan to add sounds about car engine for the car when you drive it. Shooting games are really good with sound because you can hear the sound of the gun and your footsteps.

Game Demo Skeleton

I thought that it was easy. After i watched other people do it. Meredith told us a lot of information and made it easier than other people thought.Every once in a while it got confusing but during other times i knew what I was doing so I helped some of my friends. After we finished the skeleton we uploded it on our wiki. I feel much better using Flash now.

Drawing in Flash

The experience I got from working in flash is how to draw in flash, using shapes and how to fill color. The most I have done in flash is my mini game and my part in the paper pototype.In our game idea you are driving a car to race to the finish. You have to answer all the questions to move on. No there hasn't been any intresting post from a blogger. Our insperation was stephen had a really good idea and we all liked it so we made it our game idea.

Planning Your Game

I got the Project Manager role because I am good at helping people at other stuff when they get stuck. We didn't have any disagreements. I look forward to helping my teammates. Stephen had a really good idea and we all liked it.

Team Expectations

Our team name is DOOR. Stephen had a really good idea and we all liked it. He had the idea of to cars racing and they have to stop at 4 different way points to answer questions about Volume, Area, and 2 on Order of Operations. The first person to answer all the questions right and cross the finish line wins. Ryan will be the artist, Steven will be the sound producer, Stephen will be the action script, and I am the supervisor so when they need me to help them I can. Our whole team was very confident with flash so we shouldn't have a problem.

Game Idea Reflection

I learned to use flash and how to use the actions window. We learned how to change the font size and color. The background you can change the color. The actions window is where you put the codes for the collision, moving, and speed. I also learned that it takes time. I am most excited about the actions and the questions that are going to be asked to the players. I am also excited about working in groups.

Games We Play

Yes I sometimes play games on the computers in my free time. The games I play are mostly shooting or adventure. The reason why I play shooters is shooters take skill to aim and shoot a moving target. Adventures are fun because I like a game that takes time to win. I might play my mini game a few times but not a lot just because its not my type of game.

Mini Game Project

The mini game was fun but it was a little confusing but got easier as we moved on. We had a few problems but they were fixed very fast. The layers aren't confusing at all its the actions. The people that were behind a day caught up really fast with the help of some of their classmates. We are done with the mini game. It was fun and I would like to make another sometime.

Intro Flash

I think this will be difficult task. But it could be really fun. The way the layer project works is you have to do is draw something on different pieces of paper and stack the paper and look at it when you hold it up to the light. That makes it look like something is standing in front of something. The thing i think will be fun about this is combining the layers together.

Blogs I followed

I chose these blogs because they gave me a lot a info and i didn't read all of it. One blog had a lot of info about math like area, volume, order of operations, and more. I think these blogs will help people develope there understanding about Order of Operations. This will help so many people out.

Social Issue Review

Yesterday in class we wrote what we think about the Environment heath, poverty, and Education in West Virginia. In West Virginia there isn't much bullying where i live but when kids are bullied it is in schools, parks, and the mall. Drugs are in West Virginia but is isn't to bad because we have well trained police and police dogs. The pregnancy in west Virginia is fine there isn't any teen pregnancy in West Virginia.

Games

I liked the game Darfur is Dying. You run to get water for you village so you can grow crops and drink it. But there are people chasing you so you have to be sneaky to get the water. You pick a kid from this family to savage for water.The other game i played was The Haunted House. This game you are dared to enter the old haunted school. When you enter the school you have to answer questions to move on. After some questions you go back to the hallway but you have to enter a room to answer a question. When you reach the end and beat the game you get a deathploma.
